本片是献给身为父母的外来务工者,两亿人的身后有多少孩子等待着他们的照顾和关爱。也是献给所有残疾儿童和他们的父母，我们是连在一起的！一列南下的火车，从北方的冰天雪地来到了“中国制造之都”东莞，当内蒙姑娘梁铮铮（梁静饰）带着孩子开始了这次旅程，她火辣辣的性格和自闭症儿子（朱江迪饰）的缄默形成了命运的交集，走到了法律和情感的边缘，何处是他们的家园？梁铮铮从不怀疑自己无论容貌或能力，哪一点都不输给别人，然而，这一切都被她儿子改变了。儿子8岁，行为古怪，无法交流，除了长相外，几乎不象地球人。由于这个怪异的孩子，梁铮铮丢掉了丈夫、失去了工作、欠下了债。她决定去南方寻找新生活。在东莞一家工厂，她找到了工作也找到了男人。她把儿子送进社区养护所，开始了与洪卫星的一段同居关系。洪卫星是她的上司，刻板严明，这一套在这间万人工厂如鱼得水。梁铮铮在洪卫星身上看到了新生活的希望，她要跟他结婚，甚至甘愿为他蹲监狱。然而，儿子成了这桩婚姻的障碍。绝望之下，她放弃了儿子。梁铮铮住进了高楼，有了更“体面”的工作，内心却无法逃离丢弃儿子的负疚。这一天她来到警察局……正如许巍的歌唱道：当心中的快乐在一瞬间开启，我想拥你在身边，与你一起分享。该片在2011年第七届“中美电影节”中获得最佳新晋导演奖项。
