由于大多数家长到南方城市打工，剩下的都是村里的老人和孩子，小学老师易铭堂(易志兵)不能忍受这些孩子重复父母的路，决定开一家幼儿园，教孩子学习文化，下岗的妻子(何伟新)当园长，初中生李想(谢园)成了老师。"由于条件的不完善，易铭堂搬出了他的祖籍，作为孩子们活动的场所。上完幼儿园后，各种意想不到的困难接踵而至，有的家庭甚至连学费都付不起。由于李想的不当教育，拓陀离开了花园。李翔非常有罪。她想申请一所师范学校的系统学习。秀秀的妈妈下班回来了，女儿不认识她，另外，她丈夫有外遇，她伤心地离开了家乡。"因为易明堂没有办学资格，他被勒令关闭农村的幼儿园。让易明堂伤心的是这些留守儿童将来会做什么。
